How to View School Transaction History

The transaction history for a school account is a chronological record of every financial activity linked to that account — including payments received, adjustments made, and any transfers processed through KiddyCash. As a school administrator, reviewing this history helps you reconcile fees, respond to parent queries, and keep your school’s finances transparent.

What You’ll Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • Administrator access to the KiddyCash Schools portal
  • The School Account ID for the account you want to inspect (visible on your school dashboard)
  • A stable internet connection

Key Terms

TermWhat it means
School AccountThe KiddyCash account tied to your school, used to send and receive funds
TransactionAny movement of money — payment in, payout, or adjustment — recorded on the account
Transaction CodeA unique reference number assigned to each transaction for easy tracking
KYB (Know Your Business)The verification process KiddyCash uses to confirm your school’s identity before enabling full transaction access

Note: If your school has not completed KYB verification, your transaction history may be limited. Contact KiddyCash support to complete verification.

Steps to View Transaction History

  1. Log in to the KiddyCash Schools portal at schools.kiddy.cash.

  2. Navigate to your school dashboard. After logging in, you will land on the main dashboard showing your school’s overview.

  3. Open the transaction list. Go directly to your school’s transaction history using this URL pattern — replace :school_id with your school’s ID and :school_account_id with the account ID you want to inspect:

    https://schools.kiddy.cash/school/:school_id/account/:school_account_id/transaction

You can also reach this page by clicking Accounts in the left-hand navigation, selecting the relevant account, then clicking the Transactions tab.

  4. Review the transaction list. Each row in the list represents one transaction. The columns you will see include:

    ColumnDescription
    DateWhen the transaction was processed
Transaction CodeThe unique reference for that transaction
DescriptionA short label — e.g., “School Fee Payment” or “Wallet Top-Up”
Amount (KES)The value moved, in Kenyan Shillings or your local currency
StatusWhether the transaction is completed, pending, or failed
SourceWhere the funds came from — e.g., a family wallet or M-Pesa
  5. Filter or search (optional). Use the search bar to find a specific transaction by code or description. Use the date filter to narrow results to a specific week or month — useful when reconciling end-of-term fees in a school like one in Nairobi processing hundreds of family payments daily.

  6. Click any transaction row to open the full transaction detail view, where you can see the linked family account, the transaction code, and the complete audit trail.

What to Do Next

If you see a transaction that looks incorrect or is still showing as pending, you can learn how to review a pending family transaction to resolve it. If you need to record a payment manually, follow the guide on how to create a family transaction.

KiddyCash is built around the idea that children learn financial responsibility early — the same values explored in why chores still matter in modern family life and how chores connect to financial literacy for kids. Your school’s transaction records are part of that bigger picture.
